Terms of use

This agreement

FDE Interview Prep, at fdeinterviewprep.com, is run by SourceStrongAI (“we”, “us”). These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use the site. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

The privacy policy says what we do with your data, and cancellation and refunds says how canceling works. Both are part of these terms.

The service

FDE Interview Prep helps you prepare for forward deployed engineer interviews: lessons, an interview question bank with answer frameworks and model answers, timed practice cases against an AI customer with AI scoring, audio editions of the lessons, and study plans. Some of it is free with an account; Pro opens the rest. The pricing page lists what Pro includes today.

We keep improving the site, so features and content change: we add them, rework them, and sometimes remove them. Pro is priced on what it holds today, not on a promise of what comes next.

Your account

• You must be at least 16 years old to use the site.
• You sign in with Google, or with a link we email you. There is no password, so keep your Google account and your email inbox secure.
• An account is for one person. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• If you think someone else has used your account, write to hi@sourcestrongai.com straight away.
• You can delete your account at any time, in Settings, under Your data.

Pro, the free trial and billing

• The price. Pro is $10/month, billed annually ($119.99 a year), or $19.99/month, billed monthly. Those are the full prices; in many countries the price is lower, and the pricing page shows the price for yours. Prices are in US dollars and include any sales tax or VAT that Stripe works out, so the price you see is the price you pay.
• The free trial. A new subscription starts with a 7-day free trial, on either plan. You enter your card at checkout, and nothing is charged during the trial. We email you three days before it ends. When it ends, the first payment for the plan you chose is taken automatically, unless you canceled before day 7. Each account gets one trial; a later subscription on the same account starts with a payment.
• Renewal. Pro renews automatically at the end of each month or year, and is paid in advance, until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorize us, through Stripe, to charge your card for each period.
• Switching. In Billing, a switch to yearly starts at once and charges the difference; a switch to monthly starts when the year you paid for ends.
• Failed payments. If a payment fails, Stripe tries your card again over the next days. For a renewal, Pro stays on while it does; for the first payment after the trial, Pro is off until that payment goes through. If every try fails, the subscription ends.
• Codes. A promotion code changes the price only as the code says, and only for the payments it covers.
• Disputes. If you dispute a charge with your bank, Pro is paused while the dispute is open, and comes back if it is settled in our favor. Please write to us first: most problems are quicker to solve by email.

Canceling, and no refunds

• You can cancel at any time, in Settings, under Billing, which opens Stripe’s billing page. Canceling stops the next payment. Pro stays on until the end of the trial, or of the month or year you have paid for, and then ends.
• Payments are not refunded: not for the rest of a period after you cancel, not for time you did not use, and not for a renewal you meant to cancel. The free trial is there so you can try Pro before you pay. This does not take away any right to a refund that the law gives you where you live.
• Deleting your account cancels your subscription at once and ends Pro straight away, with no refund for the rest of the period.
• When Pro ends, your own work stays yours: your runs, transcripts, scores and notes stay readable and downloadable.

Price changes

We may change Pro’s prices. A change never touches a period you have already paid for. Before a new price applies to your subscription, we email you at least 30 days ahead, so you can cancel before your next renewal if you do not want to pay it. Your price is set by the country you are in when you subscribe; do not disguise where you are to get a lower one.

Using the site fairly

The site is for your own interview preparation. Please do not:

• share your account, or sell or give away access to it, including your private podcast feed’s address;
• copy, scrape, crawl, download in bulk, republish, sell or pass on the lessons, questions, model answers, cases or audio. Quoting a short passage with a link back to the page is fine;
• misuse the AI features: use the AI customer for anything but practice, try to pull out its instructions or the case’s hidden facts by attacking it, get around the daily limits, or send it anything unlawful or harmful;
• paste anyone’s confidential information into your practice, such as an employer’s or a customer’s;
• try to break, overload or get into the service or other people’s accounts, or reach it with automated tools. If you find a security problem, tell us at hi@sourcestrongai.com, and we will thank you;
• use the site to break the law or to harm anyone.

We may limit, suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Unless the law or someone’s safety stops us, we tell you why.

AI output

The AI customer and the scoring are written by AI models, run by OpenAI, and the audio lessons are read by an AI voice. AI can be wrong, inconsistent or unfair, even though a score above one on any skill must quote your own words as its evidence. Treat the customer’s replies and your score as feedback on your practice, not as an assessment of you as a candidate, and use your own judgment.

No promise of results

We do not promise that you will get an interview, pass a round or receive an offer. Employers decide how they hire, and their processes differ and change. What the site says about employers comes from public sources, cited where it appears; check the source before you rely on it.

Our content

The lessons, questions, frameworks, model answers, cases, audio, the site’s design and its software belong to SourceStrongAI or to those who license them to us. We give you a personal license to use them for your own interview preparation: the free parts while you have an account, and Pro while your subscription is active. The license cannot be transferred, and it ends when your access does.

Quotes from job postings and other sources belong to their publishers, and each is cited on the page that uses it.

Your content

What you write on the site, your messages to the AI customer, your answers, your board notes and your profile, stays yours. You let us store, process and show it back to you to run the site for you, including sending your practice to OpenAI to write the customer’s replies and your score, as the privacy policy describes. We do not publish it, show it to employers, use it in our marketing, or use it to train AI models. This permission ends when you delete it or your account, apart from what stays in backups until they expire.

Other companies’ names

Names of companies and products that appear on the site, including employers and the services we use, belong to their owners. We use them only to say who or what we mean. Their appearance does not mean that any of them endorses us or works with us.

The service as it is

We work hard to keep the site accurate and running, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we make no promises about it beyond those in these terms: not that it will always be available or free of errors, and not that its content is complete or right for your purpose. Some countries do not allow these exclusions, so some may not apply to you.

Limits on our liability

As far as the law allows:

• we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as a missed job offer, lost income, lost opportunities or lost data;
• our total liability to you for anything to do with the site is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the thing that caused the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for fraud, or for death or injury caused by negligence, and nothing takes away your rights as a consumer.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using the site at any time, and delete your account in Settings, under Your data. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, as section 7 says. If we ever stop offering Pro, we will tell subscribers at least 30 days ahead and stop renewals. The sections on our content, your content, the service as it is, and limits on our liability still apply after the agreement ends.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters to you, we email account holders at least 30 days before it applies. If you do not agree with it, you can cancel and delete your account before then; using the site after it applies means you accept it.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of the place where SourceStrongAI is established. That does not take away the protection of the consumer law where you live, which still applies to you. If a court finds part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we have not given it up. Before any dispute goes further, write to us: most problems are solved by email.
